While we think each and every day is nutrition day here at Island Fin Poke, we look forward to the full commemoration of National Nutrition Month throughout March. As always, we invite you to celebrate nutrition, Hawaiian-style, by heading our way for a scrumptious poke bowl. Don’t delay!
National Nutrition Month
What started National Nutrition Month, you’re wondering?
Well, it actually began as National Nutrition Week back in the 1970s when the American Dietetic Association sought to spur more nutritional awareness in the wake of increased health maladies. Their objective was to ‘Invest in Yourself – Buy Nutrition.” By 1980, it expanded into National Nutrition Month and the slogan evolved into “To Hit Your Stride, Eat Smart.”
At any rate, nutrition is hardly a new concept. Even the Greek father of medicine, Hippocrates, saw immense value in it when he remarked, “Let thy food be thy medicine.” We see so much wisdom there as it becomes clearer to us every day that our seafood-loving patrons live healthier and more prosperous lives.
Nutrition All The Time at Island Fin Poke Lake Nona!
Island Fin Poke is a restaurant business that focuses its menu mostly around our favorite seafood entree, the poke bowl. Why does this matter for health reasons? It’s because seafood is known to be one of the healthiest things to eat.
Don’t believe us. Did you know that Okinawa, a small island in the Pacific, is home to a greater proportion of centenarians (those who live past 100 years old) than any other place in the world? It’s true and guess what they eat? They consume seafood, veggies, and tofu.
That’s precisely what Island Fin Poke delivers on a regular basis. You can’t go wrong with delicious food like ours, which represents the staple menu items for some of the healthiest folks on the planet (Okinawans, Mediterranean dieters, etc.).
So, if you want to find out how to eat healthily and love every bite of it, then you should visit us some time to try a Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl or maybe one of our other dozen poke bowls where you can add wasabi, edamame, Og Veggies, avocado, and a plethora of other superfoods. You won’t leave disappointed or unfulfilled.
Island Fin Poke Lake Nona hopes you take advantage of this March’s extra emphasis on nutrition. Don’t forget that you never need to relegate yourself to bland or awful food in the name of nutrition. We have so many ways to enjoy lean proteins like salmon and tuna with all sorts of fruits and veggies like mango and cucumber. Come by and check it out any time at 7004 Tavistock Lakes Blvd, #148, in Orlando and don’t forget you can contact us any time at (407) 313-2827.
