Employment - Store Manager

The Store Manager has ultimate responsibility for safeguarding the financial success of a specific outlet and maintaining the reputation of the company. The role has a strong hospitality element, ensuring that the restaurant delivers high-quality food and good customer service. It also undertakes activities common to business managers within any sector including overseeing: finance, human resources, marketing, operations, and sales.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities of the Job

  • Organize stock and equipment, order supplies and oversee building maintenance, cleanliness and security
  • Ensure all systems, methods and procedures (SMPs) are being followed and enforced
  • Plan and work to budgets, maximize profits and achieve sales targets set by company
  • Control takings in the restaurant and administer payrolls
  • Recruit new team members, and train and develop existing team members
  • Coordinate team member scheduling and motivate and encourage team members to achieve targets
  • Ensure standards of hygiene are maintained and that the restaurant complies with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained
  • Implement and instill in your team company polices, procedures and ethics
  • Handle customer complaints and queries
  • Implement branded promotional campaigns from company, including the handling of point of sale
    promotional materials, and/or devise your own promotional campaigns
  • Prepare reports and other performance analysis documentation
  • Report to, and attend regular meetings with company representatives
  • Establish relationships with the local community and undertake activities that comply with the company's corporate social responsibility programs

    Requirements, Education, Skills and Experience

    • Previous restaurant experience strongly preferred

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, sharp knives and vibrations. Store manager may work late evenings and weekends and holidays. It is important to be willing to work until the job is completed, whatever time that may be.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time and repeat the same movements. The employee may walk for long periods and use their hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools and controls. They must be able to bend, twist, lift, push, pull or carry heavy items up to 50 pounds. It is important to speak clearly and understand the speech of others. It may be necessary to use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects as well as use fingers to grasp, move or assemble very small objects. The employee will be required to be physically active for long periods without getting tired.
